About Our Staff
BDS Corp has grown to 10 associates who individually specialize in Group Health, Disability, Life Insurance, Corporate, Personal and Trust Investments, Pension Plan Administration and Cafeteria Plans. Most of our staff has been with us for over 5 years, and some for over 10 years. Their experience, education, and commitment ensure that we have the knowledge and desire to provide our clients with the best possible service.
John Tuttle is the President of Benefit Design Services Corp and is also a Wealth Management Advisor and Retirement Plan Specialist with 28 years experience in insurance and investments.
In his role as a Trusted Advisor, John helps business owners, professionals, and their families make wise decisions to secure their future through a comprehensive planning process. The 4 step process involves:

- Management leading to Confidence
John has served as President of both the CNY Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and the Syracuse Association of Insurance and Financial advisors (SAIFA) and has been awarded the Distinguished Service award from both organizations. He is also a Past President of the NY State Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Currently he is Treasurer of the Onondaga Ski Club and a member of the Finance committee for the Eastern Division National Ski Patrol.
John did his undergraduate work at Middlebury College and received Masters of Science in both Financial Services (MFSF) and Management (MSM) from the American College.
Kishan Perera is the Vice President of BDS. With 22 years of experience in design, implementation, and administration of benefit programs, his expertise includes formulating long term benefit strategies for employers and handling compliance and regulatory issues governing benefit plans.
Kishan is an MBA graduate of Syracuse University and a QPA designated member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and has earned the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) designation. He is President of the Greater Central New York Association of Health Underwriters, a board member of the New York State Association of Health Underwriters, and an active member of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and New York Employee Benefits Conference.
Khris Ercums is the Senior Pension Administrator and joined BDS in 1998. She has an A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems from Cayuga Community College and attended SUNY @ Oswego. She is a QPA and QKA designated member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and has earned the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) designation from the Internal Revenue Service. Khris specializes in 401k plan administration & compliance testing for all types of Defined Contributions Plans, including preparing proposals for new and existing clients.
Valeri Dedich joined BDS in 2011. She has a B.F.A. from Pace University and a B.S. Degree from Fayetteville State University. She is a QKA designated member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and is continuing her education towards earning the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) designation. Valeri specializes in 401k and 403b plan administration, including plan document installation, distributions, and DOL and IRS reporting.
Christine Smith has been with BDS since 2000. She is a graduate of Columbia College and an Associate Wealth Management Advisor. Chris has her 6, 63, 7 & 66 securities licenses as well as her life, accident & health and variable products license. She has extensive knowledge with the set up and conversions of retirement plans from the plan installation, enrollment, contribution & distribution processing. Chris provides prompt service and guidance for plan sponsors, plan participants, brokerage and advisory clients in meeting all of their retirement and financial needs.
Jeffrey Randolph joined BDS in 2006. He earned a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and an M.B.A. from Pennsylvania State University. He was previously the president and owner of Bomac Inc., a firm that specializes in industrial control systems. He is life, health, and securities licensed. Jeff’s primary focus is assisting investment and retirement clients in the preparation of financial plans utilizing needs-based analysis and innovative solutions for his clients’ personal and business needs.
John Hunter joined BDS in December 2011 as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor with 12 years of wealth management experience working with clients to design and implement financial plans that examine all aspects of wealth accumulation, distribution and transition. John also worked as an Economic Development Advisor for the Government of Dubai and as a business consultant to a wide range of multi-national companies. He has served as President of the American Business Council for the United Arab Emirates, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Business Group and as Chairman of the Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce.
He has an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management and a BA from Loyola University of Chicago. He is licensed in general securities, life, health and variable products. John and his wife, Cindy, reside in Cazenovia, NY.
Kimberly Fitzpatrick joined BDS in 1994. She attended SUNY Canton and received her degree from Onondaga Community College in Business Administration. She is an Associate Financial Representative licensed in life, accident, health and disability and services group clients with their health, life, dental and disability insurance needs. Kim is also the Office Coordinator which includes managing day-to-day office operation.
Maureen Dore joined BDS in 2001. She is a graduate of Cazenovia College and Le Moyne College with business degrees. She is an Associate Financial Representative licensed in life, accident, health and disability and earned her Healthcare Customer Service Associate designation. Maureen services clients in individual and pension life insurance in addition to servicing group clients with their health, life, dental and disability insurance needs.
Penny Buck joined BDS in 2008 and has a B.F.A. from Syracuse University. She is an Associate Financial Representative licensed in life, accident, and health and is certified to sell individual Medicare products. Her administrative duties include preparing proposals for new and existing clients, assisting with group service, and preparing documents for pension valuations.
